Then I waited over a month again to get it back, and the service center replaced two electronics boards and didn't fix the leak. Don't buy this machine. So back it goes for a THIRD TIME. First the electronics (or the pump) died. Seriously, if it wasn't so expensive, I would have just thrown it away by now.
The people in Krups customer service are very nice, but what good is that if Krups can't make this expensive coffee maker work. However, the new machine leaked from the Espresso side from the first day so I had to send that one back too. . Save your money. This is one expensive, stylish, piece of junk.
I sent it in for repair, and after more than a month, they sent a new machine. All in all, with all the shipping, etc, it's getting close to 6 months.
Let me tell you that I absolutely LOVE this machine. I just use the espresso blend from Starbucks and pretty much just follow the directions and it's always made it PERFECTLY.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions kryshoc at gmail dot com. I'm not sure what the others were complaining about, especially the one's complaining of the mess.
The steamer works flawlessly too. Anyways I highly recommend this machine it is VERY simple to clean and EASY and I use it almost everyday.
I read almost all of the reviews on this machine before buying it and I almost didn't because of them. I bought it as a person who enjoys coffee but LOVES Latte's and espresso.
If you're making espresso or latte, it's going to be messier than coffee.hello.
The 18 yr old Bunn brought back into service. We followed instructions & sent to to a service center in IL, not a cheap thing to ship. A friend told me to write the company as perhaps I just got a "lemon", after reading other reviews it is evident that this is more the norm & I am not willing to pay another $30 to ship this anywhere. Maybe we should have known better as most coffee makers with espresso features are very expensive. We bought it at Crate & Barell and probably should tell them they should not stock this machine maybe that will get through to Krups. We received no acknowledgment that the machine was received by anyone - no note, email or anything.
I also found the machine difficult to program, the coffee never hot enough and the lid on the pot was very tricky to get on right. We bought this for our anniversary to retire our 18 yr old Bunn coffee maker & have the luxury of also having espresso. It worked for 8 months & totally quit. In 5 weeks it just came back and it worked for 2 months & died again.
So far so good. Reading the instructons manual is a must. The price ($252 + shipping) was attractive. Breweing regular coffee is no problem, however, need to master the espresso part.
Easy to use and understand. We now enjoy espresso and cappachino every night. This is one great coffee maker. Coffee tastes great and the espresso is even better.
