I returned it to the vendor for a credit minus a restock fee. Unfortunately, the item did not work after being set up. My daughter has one of these and really likes it.
Not sure if this product was new or refurbished.,although I bought it with the impression it was new.it came with a few dents and the user manual was not an original it was photo copied.the coffee maker did not brew at the 199 degree temperature it was luke warm I had to ship it out to the company I received it from.I did receive a credit.my other krups lasted 26 years.
I won't be buying another Krups product after this; based on the reviews of other similar machines you can do a lot better. Krups graciously gave me a list of places where I could get the machine fixed at my own cost but after contacting the seller directly we were offered a free replacement. Six months later the entire machine mysteriously stopped working. I thought I'd give Krups another shot at customer service and again was told I would need to pay to get it fixed. I'm disappointed to say that as of this morning my second Krups XP2070 has died and it will definitely be my last. I received my first machine for X-Mas in 2008 and was absolutely thrilled with all of the features and performance but within three months the espresso water reservoir was leaking to the point where it was damaging my counter; customer service's response was to stop using it 'improperly' meaning I should stop putting water in it evidently. (Krups could learn something from that seller) The replacement machine worked well for about five months before it too began leaking rendering the espresso maker useless and a few short months following that I again awoke to a dead display.
We tried different outlets, but no success. Don't waste your time or money. Got home, set it up, attempted to make an espresso and the pressure was not strong enough to push the water through. I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband. My husband said give it another shot but after reading these reviews, forget it.
I really wish I had read the reviews before buying this machine. Then the display disappeared, never to return again. I took this back to Bed Bath and Beyond and exchanged it for another one. I thought Krups was supposed to be a fairly nice brand but I will never buy another Krups product again. Wow.
I set it up, made perfect espressos and even brewed some regular coffee for 2 whole days. After 5 attempts and a half bag of espresso wasted, I boxed her up ready to be returned again tomorrow.
With both devices, after about six months they were leaking from underneath and no matter how much filtered water I used and descaling I performed, the leaks became a nuisance and a mess I was not willing to deal with on a daily basis. This product could improve after a few upgrades, and I do not recommended as is, regardless of the price. The espresso side offered good crema, and the factory settings for the water to be used for either one or two servings of espresso was adequate, resulting in a decent serving of espresso. I did not experience issues with the drip side, and it actually brewed good quality coffee. The instructions manual is poor and it took me about two weeks to figure everything out, however I was able to get the espresso and the drip side working on the first day. I originally purchased this product in the summer of 2008. It took me a while to understand the functionality to set the clock, and also to froth. I had to return the first one and replaced it with the same model, to promote status-quo.
